everything but the turkey

rp_dsc_0057.jpgThanksgiving’s tomorrow and you still don’t have the perfect recipe for green bean casserole?  How about pie?  Well, lucky for you your favorite mom blogger (just kidding, it’s me) used to be a food blogger and spent a WHOLE lotta time finding the best of the best recipes for Thanksgiving.  These are some of my absolute favorite, crowd-pleasing recipes.  You know, just in case you’re not totally prepared yet.

Appetizers, anyone?

Here are just a few of my favorites, perfect to get that belly warmed up for the turkey and stuffing attack later in the day.

Bombay Cheese Dip… everyone’s favorite!

More dip you say?  This one is creamy, warm, gooey… well, you get the picture. Hot Onion Soufflé

Who wouldn’t go nuts over asparagus and prosciutto?  Nobody.  That’s a double negative right there.  Sorry.

First of all… the talk of Thanksgiving last year.  A new classic: Cheesy, Crispy Green Bean Casserole.

And of course, we’ll need some cranberry sauce.  Obviously.

How about some mashed potatoes with a little extra something’?  Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes with Sage and Shallots?  Yes? Yes.

Sweet potatoes are most definitely a must.  Sweet Potato Gratin with Sage and Garlic would do quite nicely.Sweet Potato Gratin with Sage and Garlic

In case you have any more room… Dessert

Pumpkin pie is a given, right?  The Ultimate Pumpkin Pie goes above and beyond.

Or for a more casual take on pumpkin pie… Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars!

And for a non-pumpkin option that equally delicious try an Applesauce Spice Cake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting.

But if you’re just not up for the whole pie or cake thing, there are always these delicious Triple Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies.

So… what are you making for Thanksgiving this year?
